Sailormoon lovers, rejoice! Roppongi Hills in Tokyo is holding a Sailormoon Exhibition this year from 16 April to 19 June. It is the first exhibition of the “Pretty Guardian”, but judging by its popularity, it won’t be the last!

The exhibition features Sailormoon related original art works from the author – Naoko Takeuchi, among other goods. The exhibition will be split up into different sections. As you walk in, you will enter a Moon Castle themed area, where you’ll see a life-sized Sailormoon set against the background of Tokyo tower, which you often see in the series. The decorations depict all Sailor-warriors and there is an exceptionally beautiful, large-scale projection of Sailormoon as a princess on the wall. At the centre of the exhibition you can find Sailor goods, and novelty items such as pillows in the shape of Luna’s face.

Other sections of the exhibition include: Sailormoon chronicles, a mini-movie, beginning of a story, escalation of a story, world of frames of original animation, and Sailormoon moving across time. Walking through the different exhibition sections will bring a sense of nostalgia to mind for any fans of this popular series. It also challenges your knowledge of the Sailormoon story.

The last section is a gift shop. Make sure you leave enough time to peruse the gift shop, as it’s practically impossible to make your way round in less than 30 minutes with all the unbelievable goods offered. There is a wide range of products – from something more practical like Sailor-warrior themed sweets, towels, bags to completely fantastic Moon Stick, Miniature Tablet and Moon Stick Pendants. There are also more traditional goods such as postcards, ball pens and other stationary, key-chains and DVD box-sets of the complete series. You can also make your own name sticker at the machine near the cash register. Any and every Sailormoon related item can be found here, so it is all up to you to make your childhood dreams come true and get that Moon Stick you’ve always wanted!

There is also a Chibiusa café with Sailormoon themed desserts offered.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 10pm and is located on the 3rd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. It is near Roppongi station and the closest exit is 1C.

The price is 1,800 yen for adults, 1,200 yen for university students and high school students, 600 yen for younger children and 1,500 yen for seniors.

Please note that photography is only allowed in certain areas of the exhibition.
